Itinerary

Early in the morning, we’ll collect you from your Cusco hotel and embark on a roughly 3-hour drive to Curahuasi, where a hearty breakfast awaits. From there, our journey continues to the Capulilloc pass, offering stunning vistas of Apu Salkantay and Apu Veronica. The trek kicks off with a 4-hour descent toward the rushing Apurimic river. At Chiquisca, we’ll pause for a delightful lunch prepared by our chef. We’ll then resume our hike until we reach our campsite at Playa Rosalina, where we’ll spend the night, enjoying a sumptuous dinner and hot tea.

Early morning begins with a rejuvenating cup of coca tea as we gear up for what may be the toughest leg of the trek. We embark on a challenging 3-hour climb, catching our first glimpses of the Choquequirao ruins. Passing through rural villages of Santa Rosa and Marampata, we’ll arrive at our campsite near the ruins for lunch and a brief respite. Afterward, we’ll explore the archaeological site of Choquequirao, also known as the “Cradle of Gold,” perched strategically between the Amazon and Cusco. Our guide will delve into its historical significance, allowing ample time for personal exploration. We’ll return to camp for dinner.

Following an early breakfast, we bid farewell to our picturesque Marampata campsite and begin the descent toward the Apurimac River and Rosalina Beach. From there, we ascend to our Chiquisca campsite for the night.

Our final day sees us tracing the canyon walls toward the Capuliyoc pass, treated to breathtaking mountain vistas along the way. Upon reaching Capuliyoc, we enjoy a delectable lunch before our return journey to Cusco.

For those who have previously selected to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, you will do so at your designated time at an additional cost.

In the afternoon, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes and have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will head by train back to Ollantaytambo, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Sacred Valley during the trip. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo station, we will pick you up in a van and take you back to Cusco, dropping you off at Regocijo square.
